SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.
Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!
Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?
REGGAE
Young Israelites "Stay By My Side"
The Israeli formed & based band will impress you especially my core reggae fans. This band is authentic. Real roots reggae muzik to the max, to the bone & authenticated by the most scrutinizing aficionados. Their first track will end up being a theme song for all their fans in 'Keep Holding On,' even though it is a lover's rock type tune. In the exact same vein of lover's rock & an anthem for their fans comes 'Not Ready To Let You Go.' The skank, groove, harmonies and even horns are all there. I do not know what else to tell you, other than the muzik speaks for itself. 'Stay By My Side' is obviously the title track and it's their third lover's tune which makes up half of the EP. Listenrs, here we go again, you will do as the song says. So half way through the album they switch it up. 'Babylon Yu Too Wicked' starts the true roots reggae muzik, as reggae was formed to be a voice against the underprivileged and downtrodden. The title says it all in a patois stylee too from Israel. Have to remind you where they made this muzik. The purification starts with the 'Burning Fyah' because we hungry like lion straight out of zion. Bun out the 'wicked'....'babylon has to fall' remember? I think you do, it's so prevalent in these times and hopefully soon. These talented Young Israelites, that they are, leave you with a 'Likkle More.' A real rasta, nyabhinghi chant for Rastafari is the only King of Kings. Selah!!!!!! Big them up
