SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.
Here is what we found this week…….Enjoy!
Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?
REGGAE
Chevaughn ‘Wake Up And Live’
Booboo’zzz All Stars ‘Get This Party Started’
Zoe Mazah ‘Feel Like Dancing’
Essah, Capleton & Lutan Fyah ‘The Beginning Of Time’
REGGAE ROCK
Johnny Cosmic & Collie Buddz ‘The Sun and The Moon’
The Conscious Underground ‘So Sweet’
KULCHA LATINO
Natiruts, Ziggy Marley & Yalitza Aparicio ‘America Vibra’
Various Artists “Curandero Riddim”
The lion in A Roar starts it with ‘Reggae Music.’ We need more of this latin styled reggae on riddims. We hope to change that. One reason we need more is because of tunes like Little Pepe & Kano Sunsay’s ‘Medicina y Cura. The music the medicine & cure. Jahricio and Mike Joseph come with the musical healing in the riddims title track ‘Curandero.’ They are the medicine men with dangerous reggae music. Yayo Perez & the Ganjahr Family kill it on ‘Digan Lo Que Digan.’ Basically, they are referring to all because it’s all good stuff. In other words, whatever they say is it. All tracks do the famous duo of singer & DJ.
DANCEHALL
Various Artists ‘Intimate Secret riddim’
Candyy ‘Secret Love’
Prince Akeem ‘Killin It’
SOCA
Various Artists ‘Party Animal riddim’
A nice and different riddim with all new artists. Contrary to belief it is not a ‘Party’ riddim, it’s about love realistically. Thayo & DJ Prashant have ‘You Time’ and it is a love tune and love the ‘gimme love gimme love’ vibe the lalalalas and the indian touch to the song.Legacy’s ‘Let Me Go’ is another love song and she says she ‘aint got time for that.’ Then theres the line ‘I never knew I could be with you and be so lonely.’ That is the worst. Ginger says she ready to ‘dance Tonight’ and ready to make love ‘Tonight.’ Sexy not really a party tune. Lastly, Daniel is saying ‘she will Never Leave.’ So ‘take a jump already.’
Azaryah ‘Full Flames’
This is from the ‘Jooking Board’ riddim and is by far the best tune on it. Him just have this style that will make you love the song, trust me
Christos ‘Nah’
Two things for soca 2021 is kulcharal soca and sexy soca. This is another of the later, sexy. Love the chorus with just the simplicity and use of the word ‘Nah.’ Our introduction to Christos is a sweet one.
Explainer & Darcelle ‘Soca Lambada’
This song reminds me of the calypso from the ‘Hot, Hot, Hot’ & ‘Tiney Winey’ days. Classic party ol skool calypso vibes. Explainer is a legend and he brings along the new and talented Darcelle to sweeten up the vibes and give it a latin twist. Get ready to jam.
Umi Marcano ‘Why’
