SHOK WAVE: NEW MUSIC RELEASES 9/28/20

SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Dakka Dembele "Petit Bateau"
When's the last time you heard a good, consistent and true African reggae artist? When's the last time you heard one that sang well in French? If you have heard of Tiken Jah Fikoly, it would be him. If not, then you have to go back to Alpha Blondy. The comparisons will come in and Dakka Dembele even sings about him in 'Jah Blondy.' Musically and being from the Ivory Coast, make the comparisons legitamite, especially in 'Djamanaden.' The album "Petit Bateau" starts with an authentic nyabhinghi song ' that reminds us, of Africa & the songs birth place. The title track is a great blues track with harmonica and all. 'Douaoudén' is a true African dancehall tune, where most today are a diversion of Afrobeats. 'Djamanadén' has that true Alpha Blondy sound and one of the albums better reggae songs. The title track returns for a remix which sounds good. The interesting part is it has an American reggae sound. Overall a nice African reggae album in French.
Koffee feat. Buju Banton 'Pressure (remix)'
The big tune just got bigger, Koffee adds Buju Banton to 'Pressure' for the remix. What more could you ask for?

Wizkid & H.E.R. 'Smile'
This will be the first song from Wizkid that we have liked. He has talent just musically hasnt touched us with real reggae or dancehall. It has always been diluted with Afrobeats which is fine, it just has not touched our vibe until now. The song has a reggae base with elements of Afrobeats, R & B and more. Enjoy

Snook 'Skanking'
Never heard of the artist and listened to the whole 'Reggae Moon' riddim its on and never heard this one 'Skanking' by Snook. Good vibes and good lyrics worth more than a listen. It deserves a few plays, so start 'Skanking'

Prince Fatty & Shniece Mcmenamin 'Black Rabbit'

Silk Asara 'Sweet Reggae Music'
