Various Artists Jamaica Festival Song Competition.
This year's competition, which is to show the Jamaican spirit, has got to be one of the best in the last 20 years. The music has really elevated once again. The JCDC & Jamaican government have really put the right energy behind this again and it shows. So many accolades this year. The females have outweighed the men for the first time since it's inception in 1966 when Toots & The Maytals won with 'Bam Bam.' This is when every year was a major hit. Now it is returning to that level again. It started in 2020 with Buju Bnaton's 'I Am A Jamaican.' This year was also the first time a blind person has ever won. At the end of the day, we find the quality has returned to the Festival songs. Remember it's about the song. Our favorites are:
'Waa Back Jamaica' Renzahh
This one has the melody it sweet it sweet.
'Jah Love This Land' Lex MD
Love that the likkle rasta tune mek it.
'Better Jamaica' Reggae Maxx
This one really bigs up Jamaica.
