SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Alpha Blondy "Human Race"
The legendary Ivory Coast African singer Alpha Blondy has of recent been releasing music consistently. It's a nice change because it eemed too long not to hear from him. The "Human Race" will benefit from it with a celebration of 'Life.' We must cherish it. One of the first songs released from the album is one of it's most interesting 'Kanou,' which we believe is of Japanese decent. 'Les Païens' muically and the vibe of the song reminded us of Bob Marley's 'Movement of Jah People.' We love Alpha Bloby's rendition of Led Zepplin's 'Whole Lotta Love.' We have been playing hard since it released  over 5 years ago.  A solid album and will keep your interest.
The Revolutionaries 'Little Bit of Dub'
The legendary Revolutionaries where the studio band at Channel One Studios and one of our favorites that started in the 1970's and went strong through the 80's. A rare new release called 'Little Bit of Dub.'

MENTO/CALYPSO/REGGAE

Palmerita Coco Blue 'Shut Up'
Palmerita Coco Blue is consists of Matah (La Kinky Beat) lead vocalist, Willy Fuego (Amparanoia) bass & vocals, Madjid Fahem (La Ventura-Manu Chao) guitar & vocals. Their sound is very organic and inspired by Calypso, Mento, Ska-jazz, which proposes a journey through the freshest and most characteristic Caribbean rhythms with a special presence of reggae, which has always had a prescence their musical careers. This is the first single from their upcoming album called 'Shut Up.' Its the song everybody whats to sing yet never had the courage to do it. Send it to all the right people.
