Various Artists "Cali Roots Riddim"
The group behind America's biggest & best reggae festival Cali Roots, has teamed with Collie Buddz to produce a 21 tracked riddim compilation called "Cali Roots riddim." The concept was to have have a new song drop every Friday until the original date of the Cali Roots fest May 22 (which has been moved to Oct 9-11) which was when the whole project dropped. The first singles were Collie Buddz's 'Holding Firm,' The Movement, SOJA, Gentleman, Pepper, Anthony B, Jesse Royal's 'Ooh La La' & Mike Love's 'These Are My Roots.' Now the rest include: Common Kings, Dub Inc., THE ELOVATERS - 'Sensimilla,' Nattali Rize, Ozomatli 'Cholo Yardie,' Etana, Iya Terra - 'Monterey Sunshine,' Yellowman feat. Kreema - 'Rise And Fall,' Mellow Mood, The Expendables - 'Bowl For Two (Cali Roots Riddim Remix),' Arise Roots, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad and Bumpin Uglies - 'Mid-Atlantic Dub.' The artists that have their songs listed are the better of the bunch in my opinion of course. 'Sensimilla' is sweet, Ozomatli's 'Cholo Yardie' is just an instrumental yet a really good one and I think it could be even better with vocals. Iya Terra's 'Monterey Sunshine' really reminds you of the festival. Yellowman is joined by his singing daughter and they make a nice duo/
contrast. The remix of 'Bowl For Two' fits really well on the Cali Roots riddim. Surprising for me, my favorite is 'Mid-Atlantic Dub' and representing their region of America, it's the boys who Bump Ugly.

Various Artists "Jamaica Rock riddim"
England's Maximum Sound has always put out quality reggae music and their "Jamaica Rock riddim" is no exception. Busy Singal starts it off right with what has to be the riddim naming track 'Jamaica Jamaica." This is the best tune pon the riddim with a tribute to his homeland and adds great flavor to it. Christopher Martin is ready for the riddim to 'Rock Me' & you. Cecile returns with a track maybe for her former and the one just before her in the mix in 'Focus On Me.' The lost lost auto-tuned & English Gappy Ranks pops up nicely to prove he's still got it and as he puts it 'I Can.' 'Earth Rightful' is my second favorite from Pressure Busspipe. The rest of the cast includes Stevie Face, The Kemist, Ginjah & Loyal Flames.
The Wailers featuring Skip Marley, Farruko, Shaggy & Cedella Marley "One World, One Prayer"
A song written & produced by 19x Grammy winner Emilio Estefan, "One World, One Prayer" a powerful piece focused on unity, love and inclusion beyond cultural differences. The track, which puts every music lover on the lookout, demands the union of “one world” through “a prayer” in the current global situation, in collaboration with the international titan Farruko, the Jamaican superstar Shaggy and continuing the legacy of Bob Marley alongside Cedella Marley, formerly of the Melody Makers, and her son Skip Marley, who recently had chart topping hits with Katy Perry & H.E.R. “When I wrote the song about 2 years ago, I wrote it thinking about how we, as human beings, have to love each other more, be kinder to each other and to nature,” said Emilio Estefan, who also reaffirmed that we need a world with less separation of race, religion and politics.
“Who would have thought that we would be living this current situation and that the message of” One World, One Prayer “would resonate so strongly? We need to appreciate the simple things in life and especially the love that begins with our families and extends to our community and beyond … because in the end we are all One World, One Heart!” added Estefan.
Bob Marley and the Wailers made history together between 1972 and 1981. It was Bob Marley himself who asked the Wailers to stay together. Aston Barrett Jr, son of Aston “Familyman” Barrett (bassist for Bob Marley & The Wailers), is the one in charge of keeping the flame of the band alive. And so he has! The Wailers have been touring the world far and wide, keeping an impressive agenda of over 150 shows a year.
“The music of the Wailers represents peace, love and unity. That is what I want to keep alive,” said Barret, and that is precisely the powerful message that starting today, can be heard on all digital platforms through “One World, One Prayer”, the exciting new single from the forthcoming album releasing august 2020, produced entirely by Emilio Estefan.
