REGGAE
James Aces Various Songs
These 4 singles have that original old school sound released by Upstairs Music, run by Danny Breckenridge. Long time colleague, so we reached out to him to find out more. James Aces, as we thought was apart of Desmond Dekker's back up band The Aces. 'It Pays' has great vocals and harmonies. As it says 'It pays to do good,' and there's nothing like good music. Those harmonies are from singers Leo Hall and Michael ’Vinton’ Robert. They along with James were the members of the group Shakas. The tenor sax solo on this song is from Tommy McCook from The Skatalites. 'Sabotage' all of these songs were recorded at Harry J Studio with Dwight Pinkney on Guitar, Keith Sterling on Piano, Santa Davis on Drums, Michael "Vinton" Roberts - bass, James Aces on conga drum. Horns compliments of Calvin "Bubbles Cameron on trombone and Tommy McCook on Tenor Sax. Note that Bubbles was the trombone player for the Skatalites Band after Don Drummond. We all have our troubles as expressed in 'You Have Got Your Troubles' and I have got mine. The last song of the four, 'Wise Man' was recorded at Treasure Isles Studio with Gladstan Anderson on piano & organ, Willie Lindo on guitar, Santa Davis on Drums, Michael "Vinton" Roberts on bass, (he was with the Light Of Saba band, and Rita Marley's band), James Aces on conga drum. Horns Calvin 'Bubbles' Cameron - trombone Willie Brackenridge - trumpet and Tony Green sax. In the song this 'Wise Man' sings 'A wise man keepth his life and the life of his wife and kids.' In other words, the husband & father of a family will be happy if he protects that which is dear to him.

HOLIDAY MUSIC
Monty Neysmith 'Jingle Bells'
An old school organ styled instrumental of the Christmas classic 'Jingle Bells' stands out with its old ska sound. Rightfully so since the intermittent vocals add a unique twist from a veteran named Monty Neysmith. It creates an enjoyable experience.
Eek-A-Mouse & DJ Bestixxxx 'Ganja Christmas'
The mouse has been putting out lots of music of recent. Most has been a bit off. Here's one just right & just in time for the holidays. It's a 'Ganja Christmas' tune. The only one we can think of is one of the best holiday songs from Jacob Miller and 'All I Want For Christmas' is my collie herb.
