SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.
Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!
Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?
REGGAE
DSL "Back To The Roots"
DSL is from Ghana and known for doing dancehall and Afrobeats. Those who really know him know him for reggae as well. Well DSL has returned "Back To The Roots" on his new EP of the same name. It may only be 4 songs and it is 4 good to really good songs. The melodies, lyrics and music help make it that good. The "Roots" start with the single and best tune called 'Truth.' DSL is talking to the Politicians on behalf of our children. If you haven't already, turn it up. DSL is coming at the Preacher with 'Tell I How' did I stray sings DSL. This one adds great arrangement with excellent harmonies. DSL chants truth and realities as Babylon is 'Going Down.' 'I'm High' on life, the music and DSL's outlook. There's many that claim they sing reggae in Africa and there are plenty we do not know about. The only ones we know are Samini and Black Prophet, DSL is currently the only one doing it right now.
Various Artists "The Click Riddim"
A very, nice, sweet reggae riddim called "The Click Riddim." It starts with the riddims best 'Sweet Reggae Music.' It's Bucky Jo who may be little know in most circles yet he keeps it consistent and scores on this one. Veteran Mikey General has been hitting lately by 'Keep(ing) That Joy.' It brings the joy too. Mic Inity is another lesser known name, he's keeping the 'Mood Right.' Lastly a name we have never heard Carly H keeps the jugglin nice with 'Rock With U.' Love these kinds of riddims: warm & easy and unknown.
