Chezidek "Marijuana Prayer"

What a nice album. The themes cover alot of ground and so has Chezidek. Chezi has grown and matured yet still retains his signature sound. His voice is well seasoned, too. We feel this album is his best and has reached a pinnacle in his career, similar to the mountains of his parish of St. Ann: very green and very strong. Remember many greats come from there: Burning Spear, Justin Hinds, Marcus Mosiah Garvey & the great Bob Marley. His songs have similar sentiments like his elders. There's his ganja anthem 'Leave The Trees.' A tune that helped put him on the musical map as he is still part of 'Ganja Business.' . 'Caah Believe' they still lock up people for weed, yet they free it up...a wah gwaan? 'Got To Home' is the response to locking up people for ganja. 'Marijuana Prayer' shows the positives of the herb. The theme of unity is the basis for the tune 'Let's Stay Together.' We are friends, so let's live in love. So, 'Give Me Your Love' is all we really want in life. This is the album's (if not in his career) sweetest song & melody. A song you CAN NOT listen to it just once. The rest of the album becomes feverish the more you listen to it. The voice & lyrics have become more universal. If you love the ol skool sound and riddims the following have them: 'Ganja Business,' 'Leave The Trees,' Got To Go Home,' 'One Life,' 'Fool And His Money,' 'Money Move,' 'Memba Good,' and 'Stand Up.' 'Inna Dem Eye' sings of the time the King visited Jamaica. They must have seen it, so he 'Deliver Me.' If not they don't 'Memba Good.' It is the righteous way of love so 'Stand Up' and praise H.I.M. & Chezidek for the great works herein this album 'Marijuana Prayer.'
