REGGAE

Nick Sefakis "In Time"
Nick Sefakis is the former vocalist & lead guitarist for one of America;s best reggae rock outfits to come out. He stepped out in 2022 and has now released his second album called "In Time." Eureka Sounds are his backing musicians on this album and it gives it a much rootsier sound. The lyrics dive a bit deeper and give that sense of a true rasta man making an all around reggae album. 'Lift Up Your Head' opens the album with nearly a minute & half intro. Starting out quite simple, it evolves into a heavy rasta sound that builds and culminates with the roots dawta out of the USVI Dezarie. 'Walls Of Babylon' creates a similar vibe. You hear a different Nick Sefakis. A sweeter voice a bit more seasoned & mature. It's a song about justice and a voice for those that don't. This is the origin of reggae. The song reaches it's pinnacle when Cedric Myton of The Congos steps up to the microphone stand. The next track has to be one of our favorites for many reasons. Nick kills in on the vocals and it definitely has a reggae vibe. It goes further it incorporates a funk vibe. Wait until you hear Mike Love's solo rap. If Loves name wasnt it on it I wear I would never be able to place the vocalist. Straight up banger because 'Jah Is Real.' 'Praises' must always be given because the fire starts to blaze. Mellow Mood elevates the vibe as the 'Guiding Star' on the albums next track. If 'Praises' are not all unto Jah, then 'Voice Unto Jah' is clearly the choice. Well maybe not, Every reggae singer has to praise Jah with their version of the ganja. This go around it's Nick's new girlfriend 'Mary Jane.' Great harmonies and Nick's voice does not get any sweeter. The track and song have way too many similarities to another song we can not pinpoint at the moment. If anyone recognizes it, please inform us. Lastly, the praises dont stop and neither does the 'Fire Burning.' Reggae is always present to tear down those 'Walls Of Babylon.' It is the eternal fire for the purification of this wicked, unequal & lop-sided system. Nick Sefarkis keeps it going.

REGGAE X-MAS

Peter G 'My Wish For Christmas'
It's the season's first decent Xmas song in reggae. For out of the camp of Hopeton Lindo which is called Irie Pen, comes Peter G with 'My Wish For Christmas. Hopeton has the second best worthy song. The rest are decent. It's a project called "Feel It Christmas." It's time to get jolly, holly or smoke some folly.
