Clymaxx - 'Puff And Roll Up'
The ladies new Ganja Anthem is here from Clymaxx with 'Puff And Roll Up.' Solid, tough & inna dancehall style Clymaxx kills it with her new high grade tune.
Big Mountain & Afrodizia - 'Back'
Big Mountain & Afrodizia are back together again and they take it 'Back,' 'back to (their) my roots' on this one. A pop flavored roots reggae tune to buss up your head with good vibes. Its Brazil meets Cali inna One Love Style.
Dalton Harris - 'Unfaithful Chronicles'
Newcomer and unknown talented singer Dalton Harris may get the break he's looking for with his new song 'Unfaithful Chronicles.' Maybe love on the side is his problem, it sure sounds good in song. Looks like it's on VP's Strictly The Best 54, which is a good look for Dalton.
Rootz Revealerz & The Abyssinians - 'Bed Of Roses'
Texas' Rootz Revealers, who has always possessed a nice voice has joined the legendary Abyssinians in a two fold look on life in 'Bed of Roses.' You never know what you have until its gone or it can be a situation of thinking the grass in greener on the other side. The song comes from their latest album 'Skylark.' The video comes in like a mini-melodrama.
NEW SOCA RELEASES
Adana - 'Doh Tote'
This IS the best year for SOCA music. Tobago's grown up princess Adana has set the theme for this year's Carnival with her new anthem 'Doh Tote.' Carnival is about letting loose, letting your troubles disappear and just having a good time so 'Doh Tote no feelings.' Just note her natural dance moves won her the talent showcase at Billboard's eighth annual R&B/Hip-Hop Conference in November 2007.
Charli Griffith - 'Weakness'
Charli Griffith keeps the soca going with her strength, which is every man's 'Weakness.' A ragga soca groove that is the first of her three songs for 2017 and on the Jungle Fever riddim. Watch out!
Rejects & Flipo - 'Addicted'
We all have 'Addictions.' What's yours? If one can be addicted to music that's definitely one of mine. Ultimate Rejects & Flipo are 'Addicted' to this girl in their song they praise her and admit their need.
NEW PARANG RELEASES
Da Spirits Soca Parang - 'Siparia Christmas'
Parang is the only true indigenous holiday music of the Caribbean. The holiday season is upon us and the first release that's caught our ear is Mastaminds production DA SPIRITS - SIPARIA CHRISTMAS. A great musical track with lots of melody for the season.
Cassi - 'Laughing Santa'
More Parang from a favorite newer soca artist Cassi. This shows he's compassionate, no one asks what Santa wants, everyone always asks Santa for what they want. So here's 'Laughing Santa.'
Brother B - 'Christmas of Long Ago'
Out of Grenada, comes another Parang from Brother B called 'Christmas of Long Ago.' A sweet sounding melody that lives on that strength with a sweet voice from Mr B. 'Where's my Christmas gone?'
NEW SKA/ROCKSTEADY RELEASES
Aidid & friends - 'The Island'
Aidid & friends out of Italy release a great ep of rocksteady. Ska & Rocksteady are one of the few genres that have always maintained a strong instrumental presence. This is true on this new ep and rocksteady really focused on the organ. This band utilizes the organ and its instrumentation well here and on my favorite track on the album 'The Island (new version).'
NEW REGGAE ROCK RELEASES
Cali Conscious - 'One Love For You'
Their name says alot: Cali Conscious. They are from Cali-fornia & their latest effort is very conscious in more ways than one. The track is 'One Love For You' and it is 'one love for me' too as the project also includes donating to the homeless to get socks, the most requested item from the homeless.
NEW DANCEHALL RELEASES
Downsound - 'Feel Good'
Downsound is back in the news, hopefully, for the right reason........music. The 'Feel Good' riddim which is that a slower feel good dancehall riddim starring Beenie Man 'Man Enjoy Yuh Life,' Busy Signal's cover of 'Everywhere,' Cee Gee 'Yard Man A Step,' Christopher Martin 'Feel So Good,' which I am going to say has named the riddim, Ding Dong is joined by the new Shanseea for their rendition of 'Rock The Boat' as 'Rock The Floor,' which this track will do and Harry Toddler 'Middle East' is the name of the new dance and the underground title of the song is 'Tonight.' All but one song make the cut. Great for juggling. Enjoy!
Craigy T & Tarrus Riley - 'One More Song'
Our next song has the same feel, as the above, uptempo crossover/pop dancehall from Craigy T & Tarrus Riley. It's called 'One More Song,' which if you know Tarrus, he will be saying for the rest of his life. More fun, feel good music one of of our favorites.
