SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language. We have changed the format.
Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!
REGGAE
The 'Guiding Hands' riddim is a nice juggling reggae riddim.
Here's a rendition of the classic reggae song 'Fat Girl' from Leroy Sibbles.
Legends Tommy McGowan & Carlene Davis have a produced a very talented & musical daughter Naomi Cowan. She has covered one of her fathers songs 'Things You Say You Love' which was also done by UB40. An interesting note to this track is that it features the drummer for the Canadian reggae/pop band Magic!
King Mas is a new artist and he has been putting out some nice music. His latest is no exception 'LIFE WITHOUT REGRET.' It sounds like Chronixx in the beginning and has a nice groove & topic.
PARANG
Parang is a form of Island holiday season music, very Caribbean. New songs are coming out already so that means the holidays cant be that far away. Eddie Charles - Jam Parang is the first of season. I like parang for the music so Ill play it whenever, which is uncustomary for the tradition.
