SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.
Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!
Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?
REGGAE FUSION
Bradamon Band 'Love The Roots'
This is more about the fusion then the music/song. We love the title and what it's about. We are most impressed with music s combined on this record. It's definitely different and we feel done well. Not sure what type of all invloved musically. We definitely hear rock with almost a funk sound and guitars that give it that reggae feel which is the least sound we hear.
AFRO SOCA
Various Artists 'Afro'
This project/riddim has four tracks produced by Smilus, which is key because the riddim is what makes it. The one that gets us strongest is 'Low Key' BiigDog. This one is lowkey in it's demeanor as he just wants to keep it on the down low. Not our favorite topic, it's the rhymes, melody and flow that gets it. We include this song below since there's no mix of all songs ....yet. Drax Africa's 'Kizomba' is the most African of them all and has a vibe. Aisha Noel 'Allelujah' she kills it how she sings the song title. You might not realize it until you hear or know the nake of the song to understand what she's singing. Lastly, the most known name is from Antigua Kennie Blessin with 'Genna Love.' He's got a great voice so you know it sounds good.
