SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.
Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!
Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?
REGGAE
Luciano 'Time To Heal The World'
Luciano has been releasing alot of songs recently. Luciano is a great artist so his level of music has a higher expectation. This is one of the few that everything comes together. I am finding out that it is a re-release. It's a good song either way and very relevant to today on the Vitamin D riddim.
Luciano 'Shine On Me'
'Lord let your light shine on me' is what Luciano sings and its doing just that. Beautiful song.
UB40 feat Blvk H3ro 'Gravy Train Is Coming'
Lead vocals come from Blvk H3ro on this one with Ub40 providing the smooth rub-a-dub heavy bass backing track. Sweet reggae music.
Greg Roy 'Irie'
The song fits well with Greg Roy because he is 'Irie.' He's singing about a lady he finds to be just like him 'Irie.' Everything is 'Irie' about this one.
REGGAE ROCK
Sensamotion "Life In True Color"
New Jersey's Sensamotion release a new album "Life In True Color’ with a new lead singer, that takes them to a new level. Its a good album of that poppy American reggae rock. The track ‘Fear Gone’ is definitely the stand out in that it has that sound and sings 'spirit, freedom, wash out, fear gone.' Love the lyrics, how it's sung and the melody. The first track 'Take It Easy' was the first single and is another good one about how to deal with life. It is similar to 'Better Days,' as in life lyrically and musically. The second single 'Fire's Burning In Me.'' is the last of the stand out tracks. Four is better than most.
