SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.
Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!
Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?
REGGAE
INTI “INTI”
Time to ‘Open Your Eyes’ my brother and listen to INTI of the Latin reggae band Memoria new to us as a solo artist.Nice voice, good vibes and a Virgin Islands style sound overall, which we’ve not had in a while. So it’s nice to hear. ‘Loyalty’ is a big part of this debut album. They are based in Germany & come from a Peruvian musical background. It starts with the many German artists they work with on the album as well as his brother Chaski also of Memoria. His track is one of our favorites called ‘Trample Dem Down,,’ which is in line with the albums roots theme. The other catch is the great very original horn line. Don’t know about you, ‘I’m Vibing’ to the self entitled debut album “INTI.” Building up a vibe especially towards the end where they meditate & stimulate with the help of the highest grade. The other style/topics on the album fall under Lover’s Rock as in ‘My Queen’ and the hot ‘U and I,’ with its strong lyrics and melody. Kapital Stone joins them on ‘Ungrateful.’ The last 3 songs are good and and a great way to end the album since it’s all about ‘Music.’ The album is self & well produced.
‘Set Your Priorities Right’ and add INTI to your playlist.
Fantan Mojah 'Jah Movement'
Fantan Mojah has been putting out music consistently for the last 2 years and this is the first to really strike the right chord. It's 'Jah Movement' and its the right movement in his life. He has done other types of reggae & dancehall. This is where we feel he shines and what he made his name. The melody is nice as well. All the ingredients for a hit.
Black Am I, Jemere Morgan & Answele 'All You Can Do Is Try'
Tuff Gong artit Black Am I is joined by the great voice of Jemere Morgan and Answele with a song we can all relate to with 'All You Can Do Is Try.' Black Am I brings the edge and Answele adds a little more sweetness.
