Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Various Artists "Shout Out riddim"
A nice juggling riddim called "Shout Out Riddim" with two stand out tracks. The first come the Colonel Josey Wales. He still 'Flys Like an Eagle.' The stand out of the two is the second song with newcomer Amalie & another veteran King Kong. These two sound great. 'My baby is calling my phone' sings Amalie is nice & sexy and then the King comes in with that Tenor Saw Style. It works well. Here's the whole riddim in case you hear something else you might like. Our favorites start 5:08 and are mixed together. so you can both vibes one time.
The Resolvers 'They Don't Know'
The Resolvers have established themselves as a strong versatile reggae band. They do classic ska, reggae, lover's rock, dabble in the reggae rock sound and today they bring it all together & up to 2024. The song topically is very current. You feel OJay's pain in his voice to the extent that you know he's going through it like most of us. He opens with a cry, then sings 'they got the money, they got the power, somewhere they forgot how to treat one another.....they don't know, what it's like to live pay check to pay check....people have run out of patience, poison policies proven so reckless.' Ojay Smith one of two main vocalists the other is his sister Sahara Smith who on this track sings the hook & and name of the song in a harmony style that Bob Marley & The Wailers did with the I - Threes. Sing those previous lyrics in between each line sing harmoniously 'They Don't Know' which is the title of the song. This is how the song goes it's brilliant. The song is written by the third singer of the band Ron Eisner. Now musically it is modern roots so both the topic and the music are todays sound of roots reggae. We can not forget one the bands greatest attributes heard in this song and that is the 4 piece horn section headed by David Burgos. Listen Here

Nadia McAnuff 'Know Who"
A thirst for freedom common to the title “Know Who”, a symbol of Nadia McAnuff’s rebellious and feminist spirit who denounces the “false rastas”, these wolves dressed as sheep who discredit an order that they claim to serve, on a joyful riddim recalling the heyday of the legendary Culture band. This is the daughter of the 'Electric Dread' Winston MaNuff who plays a heavy role on this music.

KULCHA LATINO

Chalice Sound & Yeyo Perez 'Tiempos Ruff'
Two of Madrid's finest join forces on the new track that the world can feel and relate to, called 'Tiempos Ruff.' Mostly in Espanol, the track is partially better felt in English as in 'Tiempos Ruff.' It goes the other way around too. There are certain words that do not translate exactly so this on is 'Ruff.' It has that 80's original dancehall style even from the 70's with the Spanish version of Rankin Joe. Tune Ruff n' Tuff with the track done by Mafia & Fluxy Europe's top rhythm pair.

CALYPSO/MENO

Palmeria Coco Blue 'Shut Up'
Great sounding sound with that mento & calypso sound from a new band of members of several bands came together to push this type of sound including ska. This is the song many have wanted to write or sing and never did. It's a bit rude & straightforward. It works. It is called 'Shut Up.'
