SHOK WAVE: NEW MUSIC RELEASES 5/24/2022

SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Spring is in full bloom in Spain, Iseo & Dodosound have released the album to compliment it in "Blossom." It has a warm, calming sound of easy roots reggae. It is their third album. It is even more relevant because of the time the country spent in lockdown so it's more than a coming out. The album is sung in English & Spanish. The title track opens the album into an 'Infinity' of muzik. The album is a 'Rootsy' 'Pink Safari' that says 'Love Is A Killer' not the answer. The best scents of spring on 'Blossom' come from 'I Wonder' & 'No Money.' The first song is explained by telling the intrigue of wanting to know a person and is complemented by a great trumpet line & solo. Respectively the second, does have the answer in 'No Money' that it still does not take it to have the best things in life. The album ends with 'Agrigato' which is a way to say thank you. An appropriate ending at that. Enjoy!!!

The album is being supported in parts of Europe with a tour.
Bazil 'Right Line
A consistent artist out of France named Bazil has a new song out called 'Right Line.' He sings 'walk pon the right line, dont let them stop your plan.' Well he started at 15 and he is now 33 years old. This is his destiny, please be apart of the journey.
Aqyila 'Vibe For Me'
You can sing about the vibe and it doesnt mean you have it. Well Aqyila 'Vibe For Me' has exactly that. Just good vibes.
Koptiq Sun 'Brother's Keeper'
From the album "Transformed," Koptiq Sun give them roots, reality & culture. A solid album yet we feel 'Brother's Keeper' is the standout while the rest of the album is well worth a listen from the 'Kong-Kara.'
Glen Washington 'When Love Comes Walking'
'When Love Comes Walking' is the second new single that sounds good from the unmistakeable Glen Washington. Hopefully there is an album in the making with these two good songs on it.
Pacific Vibration & Akae Beka 'Truth'
The voice that speaks & sings 'Truth' is still telling his truth. Akae Beka, Positive Vibrations and Zion I Kings keep the spirit alive.

REGGAE ROCK

The Movement & Iration 'On & On'

SOCA

Various Artists "Lil Birdie riddim"
We find two options when it comes t todays soca muzik. 1) We love the riddim just can't find a song that we really like that stands out on the riddim. 2) The riddim sounds ok yet somebody kills it. In both instance we end up with one maybe two songs off the riddim. The "Lil Birdie riddim" is the exception so far this year. Every song sounds good and we love the riddim. As BongoPrime sings this one has the 'Chemistry,' so if you 'Want To Know' ask the Major Benny G. The veteran out of St Vincent shows his maturity and consideration in 'Privilege.' Jamsey sings 'life is a privilege, give thanks and appreciate.' Now it's your turn to pay your respects.
