SHOK WAVE: NEW MUSIC RELEASES 3/19/2024

SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Aaron Borowitz "Father Time"
Not a fully true reggae album, yet it retains the essence of reggae. Feels a bit Hawaiian, smooth and simple and ultimately good. We like the vocals, the harmonies and the simple melodies. The messages feel positive. Pinpointing a song is hard to say this is the song, the album just flows well 'Together.' You might say it's 'No Nonsense' with out being too serious, serious enough to take the album serious as you want. BTW, the album is called 'Father Time' and it comes from Aaron Borowitz. We did a bit of research to find out Adam is the lead singer for the band Thrive, who have heard just do not know much about them. There are lots of guests on the album and we only know Signal Fire out of North Carolina. Korazon Honda is the guest that stands out with 2 tracks. All we can ultimately say is take a listen and let it flow.

Casual Healing 'Up and Down'
Up and it all comes down is a story of life. Sung with a great voice from a band that makes the best music for the week by Rolling Stone magazine, their New Zealand edition. Song even includes a little live sample of 'Coming In From The Cold.' A bit soulful and a bit jazzy with mostly a reggae vibe.
