SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language. We have changed the format.
Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!
This week the music is dominated by Soca & Holiday music from the Caribbean.
HOLIDAY MUSIC
Wixard & Walshy Fire have released two holiday dancehall styled songs on the Xmas riddim. The first from Lybran with an appropriate message 'Be Careful' yet done in a comical, almost hypocritical way.
The other is Trilla's 'Xmas Rave' a dancehall styled rave, party tune
SOCA
Well the new name is 'Sokah' and it's coming from the branch of the root of Soca. Nailah Blackman's new song and she's the daughter of the inventor of Soca : Ras Shorty Blackman.

Macka Diamond has a new soca hit 'Caribbean Wine.' It represents all the Caribbean.

REGGAE
Living Legend Ken Booth releases 'Inna De Yard.' It's most of his classic hits in a striped down, acoustic style of the originals, right along the 'Inna De Yard' style of the series.

DI JUGGLIN VOLUME 1 is a compilation riddim album. The riddim sounds just like the lick over version from the 1990's by Penthouse Records called 'Tempted To Touch' on the compilation called Good Fellas. The original name is 'A Love I can Feel.' Top cuts for me come from Kristine Alicia, Mr Vegas & Delly Ranx while Joanna Marie & Galaxy P have a nice tune too. Here, you make the call.
DI JUGGLIN VOLUME 1 - Compilation
I wouldn't necessarily call this a reggae album. Reggae is the closest thing I can categorize to the styles I know.
'Keep One Eye Open' as this new talent known as Honey Larochelle will be her own 'Boss' & 'Party Everyday Like It's Saturday.' She's 'Serious' talent that's doing the lighter side of reggae & pop. Her best reggae sounding song is a real story to be heard called 'Actor.' It's not even her best song.
