NEW SOCA RELEASES

The biggest producer of SOCA is gearing up HARD for Carnival (Trinidad & Tobago) and the amount of music coming out is INSANE, and GOOD!!!!! It has picked it up from where 2016 started it. The other Islands are always try to make their statement too.

Xpert Productions - 'Sweet Wink'

Lavaman Grenada Sweet Winer riddim No Personal

The RIDDIM for this week is no doubt the 'Sweet Wink' from Xpert Productions. Lavaman's  'No Personal' is the BIG tune pon di riddim out of the Spice Island of Grenada. Watch out cause girl he's just looking a wine....'nothing personal.'

Janet Azzouz - 'Give Me Ah Little Soca'

JANET AZZOUZ - Give Me Ah Little Soca 2017 Dominica

Janet Azzouz out of Dominica has the best lyrics I have almost ever heard. Any true soca lover a GO VEX with me because I's not a rum drinker so just 'Give Me Ah Little Soca.' It's the music it's not the rum for Janet & I. Gwaan Janet to Di World, the new theme for soca music.

Bunji Garlin - 'Wine Up Yuh Body'

Bunji Garlin Whine up Yuh Body Trinidad

The only Trinidadian this week is the Gladiator & Warrior is Bunji Garlin. He's going in hard. For me this is one of his best years musically in some time, BUNJI GARLIN - 'Wine Up Yuh Body' is no exception and one of his best.

NEW REGGAE RELEASES

It felt like a slow week for reggae. It was not by no means. It's just that I got most of it in the early part of the week which is rare. The soca came in towards the end so maybe that's why everything is reversed.

Crown feat Dynamq - 'In Love Again'

Dynamq Crown New York Texas Sudan In Love Again

River Nile has hit us with many new releases. Their main artist is Dynamq and is an African reggae artist from Sudan now living in Texas. He has a sound, it's a bit different. I think with time this artist could really make good noise....music. Nicely produced modern roots reggae riddims. There's 'Those Days in Nairobi.' Dynamq is joined by Crown on 'In Love Again' who both sound good on this track. This one is courtesy of the crew over at House of Riddim. DYNAMQ Feat MWAMBA CHILDRENS CHOIR - WORLD OF SORROW [BOMMI TOMMI REGGAE MIX] has that different sound with the African chorus on the track. Kind of reminds for a brief moment of when Paul Simon had the Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Here's his newest.

Beniton aka Jack Frost - 'Stay In Your Lane'

Beniton aka Jack Frost Stay In Your Lane New York

River Nile also sent over the new Beniton aka Jack Frost 'Stay In Your Lane.' A next youth with a sound, me like it. Just 'Stay In Your Lane' fi real.

Kalado - 'So Bless' (Glory Road Riddim)

Kalado So Bless Glory-Road-Riddim-2017-Yaad-Gang-Records Jamaica

The upcoming artist Lymit & his Yaad Gang records produced the riddim & are willing to give new artists a bly. The big tune comes from the most established artist on the riddim, Kalado, who has been in the news lately. Hopefully it's for music like this 'So Bless' on the Glory Road Riddim. He is So Bless and this has to be his best reggae tune to date and the best on the riddim. Keep on this road my youth.

Mungo's Hi Fi Ft. Little John - 'Touch the stylee'

Mungo Hifi Solomon Riddim Little John Danman

Mungo's Hi Fi relics the 'Solomon' riddim and it's a hit. It's my favorite riddim from them. It has an old school vibe to it. First there's Little John doing 'Touch The Stylee' & then  Danman - 'Love Jah.' Great juggling songs/riddim. Only available on vynl.

The last two reggae releases this week are albums. The first is from Hempress Sativa  'Unconquerebel,' and Jereme Morgan of Gramps Morgan fame. These two artists are siblings of legends of reggae.

Hempress Sativa - 'Revolution'

Hempress Sativa Unconquerebel

Hempress Sativa really came on in 2016 and starts the 2017 year with a message to get ready for the 'Revolution' because 'No weapon that is found against I shall prosper & every tongue that rise against me shall be condemned.' What she really wants is 'We Shall' all sing the same song like Israel Vibrations did. It's her old soul that shines brightest as in both 'Natty Dread' featuring the Ranking Joe and 'Boom (Wah Da Da Deng).' This second song it's the 'Unconquerebel' as she delivers like your lyrical Highness & Lioness so all dog will bark.....BOOM! Give it to them.

Jereme - 'Transition'

Jereme Morgan Transition

Jereme was born into a very musical family and has always show talent. His debut album is 'Transition.' It releases officially this week. Consisting of guests Agent Sasco on 'Neighborhood Girl,' J Boog, Stonebwoy, Toian & Jo Mersa Marley. It's his duos with blood that are the most felt especially, the one the world needs 'Try Jah Love' with Dada Son Gramps Morgan. 'Anything You Want' will hit as well because it's the original lick of 'Sitting & Watching' riddim by Dennis Brown & Sly & Robbie. 'ACB' is an interesting love song that has a nice play on the words & how Jereme delivers them. I Don't want no 'A' I don't want no 'C' I just want to 'B' with you.' With his upbringing you know he loves 'Good Old Roots.' Lastly, it's a nice combo with tour mate Jo Mersa Marley 'I Shouldn't Have.' So go buy the album and support the tour as these two support J Boog.
