SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Lion D "All In This Together"
A good new album from Italy based reggae artist Lion D called "All In This Together." Lion D born in London to an Italian mother and a Nigerian father and raised in Italy. Recorded, produced, written and played in Italy by Italian label Bizzari with all Italian musicians called the Livity band, also Lion D's band. The are many great artists like Million Stylez, Danjah, Capleton, Jah Sun, Bobby Hustle and Busy Signal. The album is solid yet there are only two standouts.'Vision' is an extremely smooth and catchy song. Lion speaks of the third eye as the consciousness rises beyond what meets the eye. In turn, the song speaks against division, deception, war, politics and comes from the heart. The biggest combo on the album is with Busy Signal and a dream come true for Lion D. It's about keeping up the fight and prospering in the end as in 'Fight and Win.' The rest are worth a listen so do here.
Elijah Prophet "Jah Calling"
Under the mentorship of Garnett Silk, Elijah Prophet started singing from a young age. His first year of professional recording came in 1996, the Prophet received best new artists award the same year. Now the rastaman is stepping 'One By One' with guidance and mercy of Jah. His album is called "Jah Calling" and Elijah has risen to the opportunity with good melodies, conscious lyrics and speaking of the 'Truth.'. Produced by Zion Productions out of Central America and features Costa Rica's reggae pride & joy, Jahricio. 'Tell Dem' and 'Poverty are nice tunes. 'Poverty' in particular because we like how Elijah says how its trying to visit but cant come in. A solid album of roots reggae and one and final tune of Afrobeats in 'Me Ah Love You.'

SOCA

Various Artists “Syrup Riddim”
This is St Vincent's hottest Power Soca riddim for 2022. The big tune for St Lucia Carnival is Fireman Hooper's 'Social Media Police' as it won the Power Soca title. The rest are newcomers. First is Hance John is looking that 'One Wne' to have the girl leave the place. Nikki Pierre offers any boy coming to wine to 'Take Time.' Shaunelle McKenzie sings tell your girlfriend 'Doh Vex. No matter what happens none of it personal. Lastly, Erica Assai comes to 'Rock Da Boat.'
