Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?
REGGAE
Maxi Priest & Busy Signal 'Believe Me'
A big combination like this is hard not to have some sort of expectations. Just seeing the two names together conjure the possibilities. There's no doubt it is a good song just those expectations might have expected better. Maxi is in top form sounding as good as ever vocally. Busy holds it down.'You love me, it shows and you nah go let me down....' Hopefully not.....
Kaiz 'My Life'
New artist with a new song called 'My Life' and his name is Kaiz. Starts with a mellow vibe and when the Afrobeats/dancehall riddim drops it continues. Just easy and enjoying 'My Life.' Kaiz is a mystery at the moment.
Black Am I, Jemere Morgan & Answele 'All You Can Do Is Try'
Tuff Gong artit Black Am I is joined by the great voice of Jemere Morgan and Answele with a song we can all relate to with 'All You Can Do Is Try.' Black Am I brings the edge and Answele adds a little more sweetness.
SOCA
Jamesy P. - "Run Away"
There is more on the Carnival front as far as music. It is also St Vincent's carnival called Vincy Mas June 30 to July 14. One of their biggest artists has toned it down and turned a bit sweeter with his music, Jamsey P. He releases 'Run Away.' A tune that speaks of doing just that with that special someone to escape it all and just be with each other. Definitely relatable.
Ricky T & Christopher Martin 'Love'
This is Martin's second soca song of the season and does with Ricky T of St Lucia so this si one for Lucia Carnival. It is a situation of falling in 'Love' with all the beautiful ladies. Ricky T is in exceptional form.
DANCEHALL
Navino 'Born Great'
Navino is a dancehall artist that has been consistently putting out music. This one stands out and that's why it's name after the riddim it's on. Succcess is in shadow, trying to elevate and that's why a man is born great.
