SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.
Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!
Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?
REGGAE
Kabaka Pyramid & Rygin King 'Believe (remix)'
Could this be the making of a complete remix album? This is the second remix of a song from the winning Reggae Grammy album 'The Kalling." Both songs have braught a different energy and song just as good as the original and in some ways better. Hopefully it continues. Kabaka kan't do any wrong.
Various Artists "Soul Ranger riddim"
Pure Music presents "Soul Ranger riddim" with 3 dancehall bangers. The first is a real dancehall clash style tune from the great Singing Melody 'Dubs Nuh Miss,' so watch out sound bwoy. Another member of LUST is here as well. He is the 'L' Lukie D with a bad man tune called 'Gunz Town.' Spragga Benz knows that the 'cocaine will blow your brain and sensimilla will make you feel irie' no coke crack or hash he no want none of dat. Ganja man tune he even speaks highly of the CBD for pain relief. Here is the whole riddim see which ones you like most
Various Artists "Gratitude Is An Attitude"
This Ep starts with the riddim that states gratitude is an attitude. You can't disagree. The riddim gets a bit jazzy with a nice horn line. The second track is the Raf Rundell's Ever Living Dub of the riddim and sounds good.Naomi Cowan bless the track with one of our favorite tunes for her in 'Soul Direction.'
DUB
Alborosie 'Kingston Dub Town'
This is Alborosie's first significant hit Kingston Town' in dub a Kingston Dub Town.'
