SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Various Artists "BrimStone Riddim"
This is an album produced by Sean Paul's 'Dutty Rock' labe.  It's actually a nice reggae riddim. The top track has to be Sean's because he is joined by Beres Hammond for 'Tender Tender,' it's burning. 'Jah You Know' my people need help.' Busy Signal sings a conscious banger. The newcomer is Aiesha Barrett, daughter of Familuy Barrett of the Wailer. Her song is such a 'Delight.' Enjoy the jugglin'.
Various Artists "Future of Reggae" Vol. 3
This is a compilation series from Sean Paul's road manager, former Island Records director and producer. Wilson produced this album with the vision of alternative reggae. The series has proven to be more relevant than ever in exposing future talent and providing a platform to share the diversity within reggae music. The album starts with 'Diamond' and lead by Capt Hook of The Movement and a guest performance from SOJA. One of the better tunes on the album. It's that American reggae rock. Vana Liya's 'Honey' , better known as JC Lodge's 'Someone Loves You Honey' with special guest Asadenaki, makes it a remix. There's plenty of variety with the scruffy sounding Dre Island with his dancehall inspired roots reggae, Analea's reggaeton, dancehall & Caribbean sounding reggae record will take you to 'Paradise' along with Mykal Rose's original 'Sinsemilla' as another remix on the album. Jesse Royal is always on the cutting edge and 'Sky Way' is no exception. 'System is Burning' is a very interesting dub feel styles reggae with Edi Fitzroy, Tanya Stephens and Transdub Massiv. Medisun is another frontrunner in the newest wave of reggae artists. Taking the old & new to form 'African Herbsman.' The album closes with Irie Souljah, a very talented reggae artist from Europe based in Jamaica alongside one of New Yorks hottest new reggae bands SunDub on a dancehall track 'UnStoppable.' No link to the music since it will not be released until March 15

DUB

Letoyo 'Give Thanks Dub'
This tune turns out a better dub version than the original. It utilises the vocals well while keep the dubby effect strong. One of the better for the year. This track is from Letoyo out of Reunion Island and dubbed out from the alchemist Foodj Madrigal.A great combination between the two
