Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

Prince Fatty & Various Artists "Artikal Intelligence"
We are huge fans of Prince Fatty's Work. His productions are no less than great. For the most part, his 'Intelligence' on this album is flawless. The 'Artikal' difference on this album is the songs are not the strongest. The variety of songs and artists are varied. There is is either living legends of the lesser known with the exception of Marcia Griffiths or relatively unknown artists. Does this ultimately take away from the album.....no. We just feel its the strength of the songs. Of course there are good songs. on this album. The album starts of like a fairy tale especially musically. Add the video it's a child's bed time story called 'Black Rabbit' with Shniece. 'Let's Go To Zion' is a futuristic tune it's 'all about the cyber general' with HorseMouth. Another veteran steps up to re-do one of his classics: it's Cornell Campbell with 'Trick in the Book.' One one of the albums top tunes. Sheniece & HorseMan return for Janis Joplin's 'Mercedes Benz.' Hearing it in these times sounds like it's a materialistic thing. Otherwise the tune sound good. You ever hear of Omar & Fat Lip? Me either it's a rap/singing duo. We love the chorus & hook about 'Sunshiine.' Another top tune comes from another veteran, Winston Francis with 'Ten Times Sweeter.' He still sounds as good as ever. HorseMan & Earl 16 tackle '100 Lb of Collie Weed.' Heavy shoes to fill, they pull it off. The album ends with the queen and one of her biggest tunes 'Tell Me Now.'

Various Artists "Reggae Virus: Sweet Yuh'
A various artsit riddim album called "Reggae Virus: Sweet Yuh' which features the riddim originally from Bob Andy and his 'Desperate Lover.' What a great track and the 15 songs on it all have a vibe. Tad's Records does a sweet lick of the rhythm. A few of the top singles are 'Natural Woman' Hezron, 'Love Is Blind' JC Lodge & Screwdriver's 'Celebration Time.' It's rare to get music from the later two so it is a joy. This is one of the better we have heard from Hezron....ever. Then add the title track 'Sweet Yuh' from Stevie Face, who's also been scarce on the scene, makes it a real treat. Always been a fan of Anthony Cruz since the 90's believe it or not he has been around that long. He 'Hot It' for the ladies. Anthony B is no stranger and sings 'if I am "Mr Right,' why are you treating me so wrong?' Got to love Terry Linen's 'God Is My Witness.' Our final selection comes from Chezidek with 'Give Me Your Love.' A few of the artists put out a different sound on this riddim Chezidek being one the other is Perfect. This is a pre-release so no public listening is available. So here are a few that have released.

Mango Wood 'Never Grow Old'
No this is not Toots & The Maytals tune nor is it Aretha Franklin's or Jim Reeves song. This is an original Mango Woods ska tune. This is in the fever of 1960's Jamaican ska. This was Mango Wood's third vinyl single and a great example of the band`s dance-oriented groove. If previous singles showcased Mango Wood`s mastery at early reggae and rocksteady, the band now turned to ska to prove their versatility. BIg Bad ska tune.
