SHOK WAVE: NEW MUSIC RELEASES 9/5/17

SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language. We have changed the format.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

I must say there was alot of music released this week, more than normal. I listen to 4-500 songs a week. This week I'd say it was closer to 700 and the end result is actually less good music than normal.

Bunji Garlin has released a new album 'Turn Up.' It hard to call it a straight soca album. I mean its heavily soca influenced yet to me its more of pop worldbeat album. Most of the better songs have released like 'Road Bunx,' Take Over & The Message with Damian Marley. The latest single is the next best thing & it is the title track.

DANCEHALL

Vybz Kartel released several songs this week most were decent. The stand out is really an Ishawna track that features Vybz Kartel called 'How Can You.' A pop dancehall track which is along the lines of the other Vybz tunes.

REGGAE

How do you like to start the morning ease into it or go full bore? Okay so does this match how you start the day musically?  I may start the  day full bore or ease into it, depends on how I feel. I usually like to start the day musically on the mellow side. I find this new song by Subajah the perfect one to start the day with 'Good Morning.' Roots reggae and very down tempo.
