SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Chezidek "Never Stop"
Chezidek is a solid artist and his new album is an testament to that. The productions are solid and the lyrics are positive. His voice is a bit unique so it makes him stand out. A few classics from his catalogue are there like 'Bun Di Ganja' & 'Mr Officer' with King Lorenzo. The new stand out is 'Jah Jah Bless.' The other tracks that are worth more than a listen are the one we have all forgotten too soon 'Ukraine.' It's a situation that has changed forever and we need not forget because it 'Bad Out Deh.' We need more love and riddims like that one. Others include 'It's Time' and 'Who Am I.' There's 4 dubs as a bonus. This link is not the full album. It does give you a good idea about the album.
Delly Ranx, Sizzla Brian & Tony Gold 'Spread Love'
Delly scores on this one. Probably our favorite tune he performs and produces. The great message of 'Spread Love' along with the talents of dun Brian & Tony Gold along with his best song in a while Sizzla

SOCA

Shaggy "In The Mood"
Shaggy is in the mood right now. He wants some rum, girls, weed and party....ready fi tun it up. It's summer time and Shaggy is in a soca mood o he grabs soca star Kes to help him on the title track. Liming time!!!!. Shagyy also grabs his two neighbors Konshens out of Jamaica and Noah Powa out of NY on his take on 'Buddy Bye.' Time to shake it up with Patrice Roberts on 'Whine & Jumping.' Shaggy grabs me, myself & I on 'I Love Her.' His only solo song and we like it best. A salute to HIS woman no matter what. 'Don't Run' with Skinny Fabulous is the second single will have you jamming on the road, so 'don't run from it.' The only artists to guest twice is Noah Powa and he appears with Future Fambo the drunken master with none other than the 'Liquor Buss' 'inna mi head.' Lastly, the next single is with Bunji Garlin and produced by Tony Kelly a favorite of Shaggy's. It's about a girl that's 'Well Talented.' Tikky tokk it and a whine. Lots of wine, lost of bumpa, plenty of liquor so it sounds like a Trini party....it's soca music 2023 style.

Biggie Irie 'Send Somebody'
It's Soca time in Barbados and one of their staples is Biggie Irie. He does only good music, some are just better than others. This is a stand out for 2023 and it's 'Send Somebody.' It starts with a different groove kind of zouk meets Afrobeats straight into that ragga soca sound of Bim. Biggie's giving thanks for the gift of a special someone.

SKA

The Prizefighters 'Think & Pray'
The great ska band out ofMinnesota returns with new music for the ska lovers
