SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Blackos LionBird “Blackos Chakras”
Twenty two songs of quality 'Reggae Music' that features top quality production, lyrics, music, songs and lyrics with many of reggae’s best stars that 'Aligne': Sizzla, Mr Vegas, Pressure, Bushman, Samory I, Turbulence and. This music is ultimately about 'Humanite' & the "Rnegat' of reggae 'Souljahs' that keep the fire and the 'Sweet Weed' burning. All of this and more take lots of 'Courage,' staying 'Positive,' love as in 'Mi Aim A Ou' and of course 'Jah Guide' because 'Jah Give Me Strength.'
The biggest drawback for our audience is that most of it is in French. There are many songs that contain English: 'Youths Dem,' 'Spiritual Warfare,' 'Positive,' 'Jah Guide,' Sweet Morning,' 'Way of Light,' 'Sweet Weed,' 'Jah Give Me Strength' and Victorious.' This is due mainly to the artists involved with most of these songs. For all of this, we show our 'Gratitude.'
Sylford Walker "Good Encouragement"
This classic roots reggae from the Golden Era modernized & updated. Sylford Walker is one of those artists who was born into reggae. He started recording in the 1970's with Glen Brown & Joe Gibbs. His first hit is here and revised feat. Rachaad Amarji. It's a song he wrote while in prison for smoking herb. Imagine that!!!! This new album is literally "Good Encouragement." If you love that classic reggae sound take a trip down memory lane (for some) and an introduction to man that was there.
Various Artists "FreeMind riddim"
A real nice jugglin' roots reggae riddim called "FreeMind." Because of the name we feel likes it's courtesy of Etana. She has one of the better tracks because she is always 'Grateful.' The other stand outs are from newcomer Greg Gutty with a beautiful song about his lover 'Hey Darling.' I-Octane has returned with a good bit of music recently and his cut on the riddim is his best called 'Violence.'

REGGAE ROCK

Arise Roots 'Summer Kind of Love'
Hearing a voice in this voice of Karim Israel of Arise Roots that we have never heard. It's much more mature, sweeter, smoother and it fits really well with this song called 'Summer Kind of Love.' The music is very similar to the voice as well characteristically. There's solos of the sax, guitar, piano, and  maybe keyboard near the end of the song.

DANCEHALL

Mavado 'Bubble & Brace'
Mavado comes from the gully and is a badman. He is taking both to the mainstream in his new single with a pop dancehall beat from Di Genius. Beautiful girls.
Here's a list of random music worth a listen: reggae, dancehall, soca, reggae rock & dub
