SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Beres Hammond, Sizzla, Popcaan ‘A Mothers Love (remix)’
This is what they call a big tune. The artists alone carry the weight. The remix includes Sizzla Just in time for Mothers Day, we all have a mother that we love and cherish for our own particular reasons. The main reason is ‘A Mothers Love.’ Each artists adds their own special touch to make this a special tune. Big up all the mothers.

Busy Signal, Christopher Martin, Romain Virgo & D-Major AKA Oxygen 'I Care About You'
Big artists and another big tune. A great rendition of a Babyface song in 'I Care About You.' A song full of talent and do with the classic reggae twist.
Jah Lil 'Modern Day Slavery'
The trials and tribulations of today's world. Jah Lil is a great upcoming talent. Both combine on his new song 'Modern Day Slavery'

Iwan Suhyin 'I Promise'
From the "One Joint" album Iwan Suhyin out of Africa sings his only tune on the album with 'I Promise.' He should do more even though it uses autotune. Tough tune & riddim, just cant place the track. He promises to treat you right.
Shy Fx Liam Bailey ‘Come Around Slowly’
An interesting track especially if you know the aartists involved. Shy Fx is more of an electro reggae artist as in drum & bass and jungle and Liam Bailey is has a style of soul, blues and reggae. Here Shy provides a roots track and Liam sings in a Lover's rock style. Very Nice!
Xana Romeo 'Tafari The Captain (extended version)
Roots reggae from another Romeo. This time it is the daughter of Max and it is his daughter Xana. His son is at it too. Tafari has always been at the helm of the ship.
Gentlemans Dub Club ‘Down To Earth (Dubmatix remix)’
Gentlemans Dub Club releases a remix from Dubmatix of their tune ‘Down To Earth.’ This version sounds a little bit better.
Indubious ‘Ease and Flow (Ted Bowne remix)’ fest Mike Love & Passafire
Our third remix this week that has made the cut and put the song in the decent to good range. The difference here is a better track and the addition of Pasafire. Great brotherly harmonies get you from the start with Indubious great meaningful lyrics.
'Fighting To Be Free'
This is foo the "Grin & Bare It riddim from Carvel Records. No information on who the artist is performing the song.
Christopher Ellis 'Rub A Dub'
As the son of a Jamaican great, Christopher Ellis is in the hands of the sons of the king, Bob Marley. His new tune 'Rub A Dub' is that song that speaks of the moment when you are with your special someone and you are in the moment. all you want is the song to play so you can stay close to that person. DJ dont break the mood
UB40 feat Ali Campbell & Astro 'Sufferer'
With the recent passing of Astro, we are sure this is Ali celebrating Astro, his dear friend for nearly 50 years. It's a nice roots & kulcha tune too, not typical of the UB40 most people know and nothing strange to those who really know them.
Marcus I 'Cool Down'
Warm and easy with 'Cool Down' from Marcus I. Nice easy tune.
Cali P, Teka, Stonebwoy Seun Kuti & Addis Pablo 'Rise & Shine (Teka Dub Remix)
The original is a decent tune as well. It is more of a Afrobeats feel. This remix gives it a rootsy feel and for us puts it in the good category. Flows better too.
Sylvan White The 18th Parallel 'Chant Nyahbingeh'
A new tune from Sylavn White is rare. So this is a treat. It's a rub a dub type of riddim played by The 18th Parallel. This fine roots singer sings about his faith in Rastafari and shares his knowledge of the traditional culture, the mystic of the Nyahbinghi drums and the life of a rastaman
Jah Cure 'Blood In The Water'
Ch4se 'Perfect'
A nice cover song put to reggae a surprisingly talented new singer in Ch4se with 'Perfect.'
Nick Sefakis 'Protect and Defend'
A whole album of Joseph Hill lead singer the group Culture, covers of todays cutting edge reggae artists. This is the best tune, 'Protect and Defend' by Ita Terra's Nick Sefakis.
Tony Curtis 'Power Of Fear'
Speaking to his black brothers & sisters, Tony Curtis is telling them to rise.
Publik Report & Delly Ranx 'Blaze Up'

KULCHA LATINO

Cultivo 'Respirar'
A nice kulcharal reggae tune out of Brasil from Cultivo called 'Respirar.' Their name means cultivation and the song title means breathe.

SOCA

Patrice Roberts 'One More Jam'
