SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.
Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!
Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?
REGGAE
Autarchii "Disrupting The Status Quo"
As a new artist, Autarchii shines on his debut EP "Disrupting The Status Quo," his second full release. He is not only an artist, he is also a revolutionary, which you hear in his music. Autarchii is getting stronger as the album's first musical track is 'Pomps and Pride.' In order to make a difference in life, you have to make it happen on your own, no one is going to do it for you. Autarchii is a go getter as heard in this first song. This sets the pace for the rest of the release. A fresh voice in the music. Four of the first five songs have been previously released. 'Many Rivers' is the one that hasn't. More of the drive and determination to inspire the ghetto youths. His music is a 'freedom cry' as in 'Black Liberation Cry.' A different and catchy melody. 'Rise With The Sun' is about giving thanks for life. The last three songs on the EP are good. The best have been heard in 'Pomps and Pride' and 'Black Liberation Cry.' We will enjoy this music until more of what we need returns from Autarchii (pronounced Aw-Tar-Chee), which is a derivative of autarchy, which means absolute rule or power. His mission will prosper.
Faygo "Blooming"
Faygo 'Never Forget' your roots on this new album "Blooming" and the opening track. Global influences along with those of the musicians help create the messages of unity, sharing, philosophy and the happiness of others. The question is answered, if you smoke ganja, does that make you a 'Criminal?' Listen and you know. It also shows their French heritage. 'You're Not Alone' is the final vocal track. It gives you that security. The opening track is our favorite and it's dub is too in 'Never Forget Your Horns.' This release is an EP with four songs and their dubs. Their themes keep in line with their two previous albums. So please never forget your roots, Faygo hasn't.
JonQuan feat. Kelly Di Filippo 'I Am Trying'
Nice little Lover's Rock from the vocalist of Washington Dc's The Loving Paupers collabs with JonQuan as it's 'all for one' on this ONE!!!!
WSTRN feat. Lila Ike 'Never Leave'
Tribal Seeds 'Fallen Kings'
Tribal Seeds feat. The Movement 'Breathe Easy'
This is a sweet one. Probably the best guest appearance for the year from Josh of The Movement.
