NEW REGGAE RELEASES

Scotch Bonnet Records & Trilion - 'Ain't No Future With No Past'

Scotch Bonnet Records & producer Trilion present 'Ain't No Future With No Past' featuring Miss Red, Ranking Levy, Mentor Irie, General G, Yuta B & Guma Ranks inna dancehall stylee. The album has that 'Ole Sound Tradition'  & ft General G & Ranking Levy all the way through. The press release says it is the best of rub-a-dub dancehall and experimental electronica. I agree except I do not hear much in the form of electronica, if anything it's very subtle. General G is the top ranking DJ on this album. He has 2 of 3 top tracks as he says 'No Igle' feat Mss Red. The third is 'Broke Family' with Mentor Irie.

F.A.C.T.S. of Life Riddim

The F.A.C.T.S. of Life Riddim has a good vibe. Chezidek returns with 'Mama Bawl.' So now it's time to 'Rise Again'  Dereq ft Melica. Turbulence has been on a path to put himself back on the peoples lips. To make this a better place, Turbulence has added 'This Is Not How' the world was meant to be to his catalogue.

Mark Wonder - 'Dragon Slayer'

Underrated for far too long is reggae artist Mark Wonder. His latest album 'Dragon Slayer' is a solid album. Wonder's unique vocal timbre is at once identifiable and compelling to any ear. His messages & style capture your imagination. His nickname is 'Dragon Slayer.' He's a youth who always 'Hol Yuh Kulcha' as 'Iyainghi Rebel.' 'People Need Security' is so true & no 'Wonder' he found it as a child of the most high Jah Rastafari. So let us 'Celebrate This Life' of Mark Wonder in song on 'Dragon Slayer.'

Krmel - 'Je marche'

Krmel out of Africa has a nice little tune in French that says 'Je Marche' which means I walk.

Roc Riva

Roc Riva formed in 2012, the group consists of founding member Derrick Brown and friends Amique Earlington and Althea Hewitt.  With the passing of Amique, his nephew Elton Earlington (winner of the 2016 Digicel Rising Star competition), stepped in to fill Amique’s place. Now they have released 3 good songs 'Rock You With Rub A Dub,' 'Love Sanctuary' & my favorite 'Sail (the remix).' The first song explains the basis to their sound.....they want to 'Rock You With Rub A Dub.' My favorite is for the lover's and has a reggae/dancehall feel. With three vocalists, you know it's gonna be sweet.

Inner circle feat Ronnie VOP and Bizerk - 'We Love Rio'

Inner Circle teams up with Ronnie Vop & Bizerk as they play homage to one of their favorite cities 'We Love Rio.'

NEW KULCHA LATINO RELEASES

Jah Nattoh - 'Punto Y Parte'

Jah Nattoh is rising from the hot bed of reggae out of Barcelona Spain. His latest album Punto Y Parte is courtesy of the company helping to put reggae on the map in Spain, Mad 91 & Irie Ites. He's got a great sounding voice with sweet melodies (Vivimos Del Verbo, Paren La Violencia, Tener La Misma Sensación) and many great messages (Esa No Es Mi Misión, Mi Pequeño León, Paren La Violencia). This is a really solid album. There's 15 tracks & I pulled 14 of them, so that should say something. Many of them are good and several are really good. Many reggae fans will recognize several of the tracks/riddims being used on this album: Truth & Rights, One More Night, and Blues Dance Raid. Then there's the use of other spanish musical styles like cumbia, There's also many guests like Morodo, Hermano L, DJ Keal, Don Waton, Karlos Abril & Baboon Roots.
