SHOK WAVE: NEW MUSIC RELEASES 4/5/2022

SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Daman "Life"
This is the first album since the pandemic hit, that we really feel covers the mood of the world in 2022. The album starts with the title track 'Life' from a new artist to us in Daman, because he has been working with bands/groups like Sparky Riot & Killa Sound Yard out of Paris. Now a solo artist the album offers many modern reggae varieties like rub-a-dub, rockers, roots & steppers. 'Blood' is any time cops shoot their guns in other words blood a go run when the cops use their gun, especially with the protestors. The first real tune on the album is the next one, in this "Life," is a 'Time' of 'Confusion.' No one has any 'Time' we are running and running out of time. Let's slow down and enjoy the muzik. Definitely one of the albums best. This lack of 'Time' is causing 'Confusion' and should instead be a revolution. 'Hurt' is a nice roots reggae that talks a reality that many do not want to hear and features legend Max Romeo. We all get 'Hurt' and it hurts because we cared enough to be vulnerable. These are the best on the album. We invite you to listen

Irregular Roots 'Remember'
Another A-Lone Production, 'Remember' by Irregular Roots is a solid roots reggae track with that signature sound from the production team.
Dubbest 'Don't Leave Me Out'
Great melody on this new one from Dubbest with 'Dont Leave me out. If you bring me to life I will give you what you want

Mihali feat. The Movement & The Elovaters 'Greater Escape'
There's a great way to get noticed: it's by hiring a few guests for your album and that is exactly what Mihali with 'Greater Escape.' He brings along The Elovaters & The Movement to make a better place for sandwiches
Chronixx 'Never Give Up'
A stripped down reggae tune from Chronixx called 'Never Give Up.' Different production from Forever Living Originals.
Collin B 'This Love Of Mine'
Collin B is an unfamiliar name yet his voice sounds great and sings a nice Lover's Rock in 'This Love Of Mine.' Sounds like Dennis Brown

SKA

Rhoda Dakar 'Walking After Midnight'
Finally the ska we love. It's a classic Patsy Kline tune called 'Walking After Midnight' by The Selector's Rhoda Dakar. It has that 2 Tone feel with traditional ska vibes.

KULCHA LATINO

Los Pericos 'La Distancia'
The legends return with a smooth reggae styled love song in 'La Distancia.'

KOMPA

Prince Richie 'Pourquoi'

ZIM DANCE

Monyarous 'Comfort Zone'
This new song is on the 27 tracked album called the "One Voice riddim." It's out of Zimababwe so its ZIm Dancehall by Monyarous. Catchy little tune. Something different.
