Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Kairo McLean "Easy Now"
This 12 year old releases his debut EP "Easy Now." Solid songs coupled with good, positive lyrics and songwriting and backed by strong modern and progressive produced tracks, Kairo Mclean is already on a path to greatness. Love what we hear from such a young talented reggae singer. Four songs in total and the first single is the title track. The first track on the EP is 'Fear' on the loaded 'Victory Rock' riddim from Kabaka Pyramid's Bebble Rock camp.We love the raw talent in his singing that manipulates the song title. Babylon's wickedness does not phase this young man as he assures we will 'Rise Again' as this young man is a true 'Rebel.' Its the bass & the treble for this musical rebel. It's the line in this song that really captivates me .... 'I don't have time to be angry.' This puts his music pon a level. He writes, plays and sings most of his music. This Ep did get assistance from several others. The maturity of this youth is as good as those two & three times his age. Kairo showed interest in music from 2 years old. By 6 he was already playing drums & guitar as well as performing on major festivals in his homeland of Canada. He has studied the music of the legends from Dennis Brown, Peter Tosh & Gregory Isaacs and it shows. His depth, knowledge and understanding in the music is seen in his own. Tap into his style and sound as a star has been born.
Publik Report "My Reality"
Jamaica's newest reggae outfit, Publik Report releases their first full album "My Reality." This is a follow up to their EP called "Journey" which finds its way on to the full length, only in this song. After the opening track 'Forgive Her,' which is a nice track of a failed relationship, the album takes a retro approach with their latest single 'I Am Not That,' a take off of the original Alton Ellis song & riddim. Then, the classic 'My Conversation' riddim backs 'Set Me Free' and 'Death In The Arena' is the back drop for 'Push On.' Both songs show the strength of Kemar Williams' vocal prowess as does this album produced by Mafia & Fluxy. In this business, you definitely have to 'Push On' and keep the fire 'Blazin.' The power of musicians, players & singers is in the 'Things To Say.' People do listen, use them wisely. 'Just To Keep You Smiling' & 'Come Over' proves Kemar Williams knows how to talk and treat the ladies. That old time something returns with the riddim that is an old Alton Ellis known as'Oowi Baby,'both appear as Kemar's facing 'My Reality (Five Man Army).' We love the passion and the harmonies in 'Quit Playing' with my heart, which is the next single. A singers singer Kemar Williams aka Publik Report pours his soul into his well crafted reggae love & reality tunes. The growth is evident and the 'Reality' is he will be around for many years to come. All produced by the Stingray family.

Fantan Mojah 'Everyday 9 To 5'

Perfedt Giddimani  'Road Trip'

Torch 'Farmer'

Torch 'Destined To Win'

Barry Biggs 'Mama'

Teejay 'Serious Times'
This is not in the wrong category and no it's not a typo. Teejay has been just dancehall artist until now.  Teejay has a great singing voice as heard on this brand new track 'Serious Times' on the 'Rising Point' riddim. In fact it is the best on the riddim. We are not blown away by the song we are more impressed with his versatility from dancehall deejay to reggae singer. The hits will follow.

Maxi Priest 'Mash Up My Life'

Gentleman 'Blessings'

Rootz Radicals 'Medi Pon Di Ishens'

REGGAE TURNED JAZZ

Brain Damage meets Big Youth 'I Pray Thee'
