SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Akae Beka   "Righteous Synergy"
In everything we do, see, encounter and don't do, there is an energy. Life is about energies, everything has an energy, even if there is no vibe or energy from something. It still creates an energy for those that cross paths with this energy-less entity. Now the synergy that is created between two harmonious entities is the righteousness of their existence. This is called "Righteous Synergy.' The latest album from Akae Beka (at least for the moment). The album starts with this same track. Akae asks 'is that what they call a party?' The party must include the almighty Jah. This 'party makes I n I 'Bubble Up' with HIS Majesty from the fountain. For most of us, in the reggae world, we know that Vaughn Benjamin, singer formally of the band Midnite & the leader of Akae Beka, know he is a deep and sophisticated songwriter. In fact, one of the deepest. I have to play back his songs to hear the lyrics more than any other artist to best understand Akae's point in each song. His Majesty is at the core of Akae's muzik and a youth who want to trod on the grass as in 'Manger.' It's deeper than that and his words are clear. His messages are not always as clear for us. Continuing his works for Rastafari we put on our garments and lace up our shoes to 'Do My Best.' The last of the singing songs as opposed to a more chanting style is one of destiny and a story of a little girl that 'Becomes A Queen.' One song that is also a bit more simple and told more as a story. The album is split 5/5 for singing & chanting style songs. We favor the singing. Note that the production is a higher grade of the Kings muzik.
