SHOK WAVE: NEW MUSIC RELEASES 2/22/21

SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Jah Light "Almighty Zion Keepers"
From Cocody, Abidjan, Ivory Coast comes Africa's next "Almighty Zion Keeper' & warrior in the artist known as Jah Light. Twenty years in the making, "Almighty Zion Keeper'' is Jah Light's debut album of conscious Afro-French reggae and a modern day classic to be as it releases April 9, 2021. You hear the experience in his music and you can also tell this is a seasoned artist. Hear his wisdom & knowledge. 'It's Jah who inspires, it's Jah who gives. It pleased Jah to make this period of global confinement a time for my personal emancipation.' We could not agree more. The Light collaborates with the singers General Dimitri & Ras Kalif on 'Corona Can't Stop Reggae' and 'Who Can Save' with reggae legend Don Carlos. Jah sees the Light in languages. French is his best so songs like 'Cette Chanson,' 'Ni Dji Bôna' and 'Touche Pas Mes Dreadlocks' are some of his better. English he has conquered in songs like 'Politique Vampire' 'Babylon Burn' and the two previous mentioned collabs. Jah also speaks his local African language Dioula and not his own and used it to make for a call of peace & reconciliation. The album ends with a few of the better songs in dub. We do not have a link to a public platform so April 9 keep an eye out to listen to this album. Here's a few to hold you over:
Aleighcia Scott 'I Want You'

Wai Fuzion 'Learning Myself'

Ria Me 'Good Enough'

Craigy T 'If I Could'

Jerone &  Evie Pukopoo 'The Search Is Over'

Jah Lil 'Human Race'

Kin Riddimz & Fikir Amlak 'Call On Jah (remix)'

SOCA

Kerwin Du Bous 'Soca Love'
Great new soca song with two versions. Love this one way better especially for the 'Soca Love.' We love how they put the love into the road snd jammin on someone and it resl yet clean. The riddim is wicked and the melody sweet.

Machel Montano & Azayrah 'Precious Love'

Patrice Roberts  'I Love You More'

REGGAE ROCK

Maoli 'Meet Me In Irie'
