SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Young Israelites "Endlessly"
The Young Israelites return with their first full album called 'Endlessly." It is 'Endlessly' full of love and that classic Jamaican reggae sound they are becoming known. The whole album is definitely worth a listen. The new album starts with the album's first single 'Please, Don't Ever Leave Me.' This sets the tone for the album and shows they are keeping their vintage  & authentic classic reggae sound. This is great because these are just a few Young Israelites that really do well with this sound.and it is so nice to hear from people born around the turn of the century and this sound was created more than 30 years before their births. The love continues on 'Can't Get Enough' of your love, which is the second single and keeping in line with the first. The almost ska 'Miss You More Than Ever' has several changes in tempo and as very slight breakdowns musically that keep this song on the up and interest high. There's lots of love here and never too much. I think songwriter has lost his love or is reminiscing alot about her. It makes for great songs. Well the song 'All Of Your Love' reveals the truth so go and listen and learn what i the source of these songs. It's also the second song that has a little twang to it, as in country music. It's very slight and keeps it flavorful. The rest of the album goes into cruise control until it concludes with 'Love's For Everyone.' A great way to wrap up an album all about 'Love' .....'Endlessly.
Dukes Of Roots 'Try Happy'

Although Dukes Of Roots is a new movement, it's comprised of well-known musicians and artists who've come together to celebrate roots reggae music! With Mermans Mosengo on vocals, the Congolese singer has performed all over the world with the arts organization Playing For Change and a variety of other bands. Joined with George "Fully" Fullwood on bass, the Jamaican musician is regarded as one of the most prolific bass players on the scene having worked with greats like Toots Hibbert, Bob Marley, and Peter Tosh - to name a few. Courtney Diedrick on drums is also

from Jamaica, and is a Grammy-award winning musician whose credits, like his bandmates, are prolific and include Damian and Stephen Marley, Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart - to name a few. Sean Diedrick on production and keys s a Grammy-award
winning producer from Jamaica who has been producing for legendary artists like Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Sean Paul, Shaggy and Popcaan for years. And T Rod on guitar also composes and writes lyrics for the band - together they are: Dukes of Roots! Let us not forget they are joined on this song by Brasil's most famous reggae band Natiruts. The synergy most importantly and can be heard in the song.

PJ Morton Feat Chronixx 'Watch The Sun'
We know absolutley nothing about this PJ Morton except this song 'Watch The Sun.' PJ Sounds like Stevie Wonder and the album cover gives me the feel of Stevie's classic album & cover "Songs In The Key of Life." Chronixx joins PJ on the title track and thank Jah he did or we may never have heard of him. Nice tune with good vibes. How can you go wrong living life to 'Watch The Sun?'

DANCEHALL

Popcaan feat Toni-Ann Singh 'Next To Me'
This is a sexy new dancehall tune from the new power couple out of Jamaica, Popcaan & Toni-Ann Singh former Miss World. She has a nice voice, too. She sings 'you make me wanna run run run' and Poppy responds 'stay right next to me.'  Is there such thing as lover's rock dancehall? Maybe we are on to something. Check it for yourself, there's no need to runaway.
