SHOK WAVE is your weekly new REGGAE music blog. SHOK WAVE finds music that is out there in the form of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Ska, Dub, Reggae Rock & anything else musical with a Caribbean origin and in any language.

Here is what we found this week.......Enjoy!

Instead of not doing a blog this week we decided to list a bunch of good songs that released. I did not find anything great just good. Maybe this should be the start of an additional playlist? What do you think?

REGGAE

Samini "Untamed"
Africa is the home & foundation to all muzik. In recent times, say since about 2015, lots of muzik coming out of Africa, especially Zimbabwe and Ghana are the most popular in today's world. These counties are producing the most muzik. Zimbabwe is producing Zim dancehall and Ghana has their spin on dancehall with Afrobeats influence and their reggae seems consistently closest to traditional reggae. Just last week we spoke of Dakka Dembele from Ivory Coast and Nigeria's Wiz Kid. This week it's Ghana's Samini and his album 'Untamed' and is very reggae. The album starts off with the title track intro and is very African. Other African tracks are 'Mokpiera (Homecoming)' and 'Obaa,' which is a good reggae tune, too.  Then it goes deep into the reggae with several reggae songs and starts with one of the better ones 'Reggae Nice' and goes into a string of decent ones in 'Natty Dread,' 'Rainbow,' 'Obra' and 'Ethiopia.' 'Boom Draw' is the good ganja tune and 'Girl Is Mine' is the albums best tune. Catchy and for the girls, I love it. One thing I noticed that has helped Samini is the American based reggae label Loud City has produced the album and is the reason I hear riddims that sound familiar like on 'Obra.' It all sounds good so give it a listen.
Black Bird Hum 'My Side' & 'My Side Dub'

Capleton 'Life Is Nice'
