Reggae

Akae Beka is the new project from Vaughn Benjamin of Midnite. The album is called 'Portals.' Vaughn is a man of "experience", a man of 'Ideals of the Emperor' and a musical 'Warriah.' He's recorded over 40 albums and numerous other projects. So if you're a fan of any of these you'll be excited for this new work. If you're a traditional reggae fan these works fair average for Vaughn. The music is great with production from I Grade. It all comes together on the track 'Like Rhyme.' It tells a 'story.' and like Life it flows 'Like Rhyme' and the horns flow very nicely.

I Jah Salomon

In a dub version of 'If It Wasn't For Jah' I Jah Solomon's 'Unity Horns' kills it.

Love In Flames Album Art SMALL

The Pop element keeps "pop"ing up in reggae. This time it's newcomer Jenny Medina with 'Love In Flames.' Any man would love to hear a woman say the things she saying, to him.

Sara Lugo

Sara Lugo releases 'Sara Lugo & Friends' from Oneness Records. It contains her big break through international record with Protoje as well as Kabaka Pyramid "High Windy" 'I Really Like You' and the one we just discovered from Bizzari record's 'Impossible riddim' with Deliman called 'Forward.' Another tune to check is the one with Joseph Cotton and an Ol' Time Something Come Back Again! with 'Don't Stay Away.' Lastly, it's Indonesian radio dj Ras Muhammad's 'Learn To Grow.' A really nice album.

Dancehall

MoskatoRiddim

Two weeks ago we spoke about a new track from one of my favorite dancehall artists Konshens called 'Bruk Off Yu Back.' It's on the 'Moskato' Riddim. The riddim has a released and it has a nice dancehall vibe to it. The other top tracks are Vershon's 'Barbie Doll' & D Major's 'Nicest Squeeze.'

Our next record combines dancehall with a soca/Caribbean vibe from Imar Shepard with 'we like how she "Do It."
