Junior Lee began spinning records as a youth in 1998 purchasing his first setup: two Stanton belt-drive turntables and a Gemni 2-Channel mixer.  He was raised on the West Coast for most of his life until relocating to South Dakota where he finished out High School.  In the Midwest, he continued DJing house and drum-n-bass.  After taking a brief hiatus, his passion was reignited after hearing a Massive B tribute mix by Culture Lover’s top selector, I Shasta.  He began devouring reggae and dancehall, stock piling 45′s, LPs and CDs from his favorite Culture artists like Sizzla Kalonji, Capleton, Jah Cure and Luciano.

When his studies were finished on the West Coast, Junior Lee took residence in South Miami and linked up with Kulcha Shok Muzik in 2006.  He became a regular at Reggae Sundays playing alongside Lance-O and Mello D and was officially inducted into the Kulcha Shok family upon the creation of the Ministers of Roots.  The group originally consisted of Lance-O, Mello D, DJ Firewood, OrijahnalDubMaster and Junior Lee and was later joined by a number of artists including Ras Adrian, Ras David, J5, Notch and more.  The Ministers of Roots became known for their unwavering commitment to playing exclusively positive and uplifting music.

In 2008, Junior Lee relocated to his current residence in Seattle, Washington where he started a family.  With two beautiful daughters and a loving wife, Junior Lee continues to play reggae locally.
